What are Students and Customers have to say... |
| "Hey TwoWolves! The hide arrived today--what a beauty! Your craftsmanship is amazing. Gorgeous color, luxurious texture... And I remembered that smoked buckskin may be my favorite smell ever. Thank you so much. I can't wait to wear it on my feet. Pigskin tanned with chemicals in a sweat shop just doesn't compare.

“I got the hide and I love it! It is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously. You are an artist. So, THANK YOU! I'm sure I'll be getting another hide in the future. The first hide you sold me turned into the most beautiful pipe bag. I love sewing with your braintan. It is so good to beadwork and easy to sew with. THANKS AGAIN!" -Sandy |
| “Thank you for the outstanding workshop this past weekend. I learned enormous amounts and your non stop energy and input was remarkable. I look forward to your next workshop offering in addition to hopefully scheduling some type of independent study with you if possible. Hope to hear from you soon." -Alan |
| “Absolutely some of the finest brain tan I've ever worked with. Excellent, thanks!" - MMCK |
"When I decided to attend your Hide-In-A-Day workshop it was for several reasons. First - I thought the ability to create a workable hide in one day may be a very useful skill...I wanted to know how it could be done and what considerations/compromises would have to be made. Second - I had tanned a few hides prior to coming down however they were very individual efforts. I had never watched anyone, never had any direct feedback on my technique, and nothing else to guide me besides the books and video I had sought out prior to starting my first hide. I was also looking for motivation. Something to re-kindle the spark for creating beautiful hides....to broaden my experience and to gain some insights into the workings of the hides themselves.
I found everything I was looking for in your workshop!
It was nice to have confirmation that some of the techniques I was using were used correctly. It was excellent to have the immediate feedback on the details of the work, and to have different ideas and techniques demonstrated when necessary. I had never attempted to smoke any hides previous to your workshop for fear of burning and ruining the hide so it was also excellent to have direct instruction on this method. There really is no substitute for experience when it comes to tanning.
I was extremely pleased with the resulting hide! It's actually the best hide I've ever done!
The instruction was professional and obviously based on experience and first hand knowledge of the subject. The course was accurately described and well worth the money especially since it included meals. The meals, by the way, were incredible!" -Christine |
"No other teacher I know at the end of class directly asks his students if we feel confident enough to do it on our own and Kfir's goal is that we can. After taking the workshop I feel confident enough to make mine own.
In three days despite the humid air and pouring rain we made good buckskin under our shelter. We did the whole process of turning deerskin into good buckskin using wet scrape method, that you would be proud to wear or carry. I personally want moccasins out of mine. We got explanations on why and how each part of the process worked. If you want to learn how to make good buckskin Kfir will teach you how. We were not opposed to using modern methods to get the fine, smooth end product but one student always asked how primitively you did it and Kfir always had an answer. Thank you for a Great Workshop!" -Dan |

"I wanted to acknowledge you folks for the awesome Braintanning workshop I took with you. The knowledge, expertise, style of teaching, and the meals were great. (Not to mention the company was and is certainly appreciated.)" -George |

"Jack, James, and I had a great time. We all loved the workshop. A lot of information in three days (and a lot of hard work). I think we could tan a hide if we had a cheat sheet in front of us listing the basic steps and their order. We ordered the book. As soon as we get it we'll probably give it a go on our own. I can't think of anything I would change about the workshop. It might be interesting to do a hide wilderness style with no modern tools. That would be a cool workshop. You are clearly knowledgeable and passionate, and that came out in your teaching. We loved having you as our house guests as well. All the best." -Nick |
